To remember our stay in Scotland, I wanted to purchase something as a memorable gift. I found exactly that in the beautiful Sgian Dubhs that Alan makes.Not being familiar with the traditions surrounding them, I gave Alan a call to ask whether I could come by and take a look at them in person. He was incredibly accommodating and took the time to walk me through the process of making the Sgian Dubhs, the different metals, woods and antlers used, as well as the traditions surrounding kilts and Sgian Dubhs.Alan even went out of his way to help me find a solution for getting the Sgian Dubhs home, as I would be travelling by plane with only carry-on luggage.I highly recommend Alan and his beautiful work. The Sgian Dubhs themselves are absolutely stunning, but the personal service and willingness to help made the experience all the more special.

Excellent kilt pin, just what I was after to complete the collection I had previously purchased from this seller.

Stag antler kilt pin looks fantastic! The Hardware is nice and has a good stong fix to the antler, this will last a life time if cared for! The pin its self is the perfect thickness to work through the weave in a heavy wool kilt without damaging it! ill definitely be back to make another purchase at somepoint as i now have this store saved. This stuff is in a different league to the factory made crap these large companies make today. Thank you very much mate from a fellow Scot in the states! The pins tremendous! Wearing it for a wedding this weekend! Cheers!

The sgian dubh is a beautiful piece and I'm impressed with the level of care and consideration that went into selecting the components. I was so excited to see bog oak included as someone who works in and studies wetland systems. Well packaged for shipping.

The item was exactly as pictured. High quality, the damascus steel looks really good, well packaged, and arrived in Australia from the UK quickly - probably the fastest I've ever received something from the UK to here. The blade is not that sharp, but I can fix that easily. The sheath is well made and looks great. Alan contacted shortly after I placed the order to remind me to put my phone number for the couriers

Beautifully crafted with local materials

I ordered these sgian dubhs to share a piece of the Highlands with my family for Christmas. When I received these it felt like I was opening my own gift. Each was made with such exceptional craftsmanship and care. Everything about each one was unique and it was as obvious that all materials were selected carefully. Not just a knife, a work of art.
