I love making these Natural Blackthorn and Bog Oak Sgian Dubhs. Britains hardest wood, Blackthorn takes approximately 3 years to slowly dry. Even then, due to its hardness, much of it still shatters so there is a lot of waste. It goes perfectly with the Bog Oak and the purple in its bark is accentuated by the Brazilian Purpleheart centre. A lot of time in the preparation and finish but absolutely worth it.
